Our Story

Deadlifts for Doernbecher is an unsanctioned, charity powerlifting exhibition designed to unite the Northwest strength community as we come together to share our love for lifting and use it to have a positive impact on our community and the families served by OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. This event is open to all ability levels and is a great opportunity to spend the afternoon with other great lifters from the Northwest as we enjoy heavy weights, good food, local beer, and great company.

Deadlifts for Doernbecher was started in 2014 by Jeron & Shayna Kerridge, owners of Savage Barbell Club in Tigard, Oregon. In just 4 short years, with the help of the Pacific Northwest strength community and our generous sponsors from across the country, D4D has grown from a $1300 backyard event to one of the largest charity lifting events in the United States, raising over $31,000 in 2017 for OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. D4D 2017 was also the first Northwest powerlifting event to be held inside of a brewery (Ancestry Brewing, Tualatin, OR), and featured 14 of the best lifters from across the country who came out to put on a show and help fundraise for the children’s hospital.

Our goal is to grow D4D into the largest charity powerlifting event in the country, and continue to
showcase the talent and generosity that the Strength Community has to offer.
By doing so, we hope to use our passion for lifting to make a positive impact in our community and in the lives of the families
served by OHSU Doernbecher Chidren’s Hospital.
